Anker has launched the Nano Charger (70W, 3 Ports) in the US. This accessory, also referred to with model number A121A, was released in China earlier this year, where it is known as the Nano SafeCharge Ultra Charger.
The Nano Charger (70W, 3 Ports) can deliver an up to 70W output through either of its USB-C ports. According to Anker, this should allow you to charge a 2024 MacBook Pro 14 to 50% in 35 minutes. The third port is USB-A, offering an up to 33W output. When the two USB-C ports are used simultaneously, the first has 60W power and the second just 5W. When charging with one USB-C and one USB-A port, the former delivers 45W and the latter 22.5W. With all three outputs in use, one USB-C provides 45W, with the outputs from the other two ports capped at 7.5W.
Anker’s Nano Charger has ActiveShield 4.0 technology to monitor the temperature of the accessory. The charger has a glossy outer shell and a metal frame. Described by Anker as “mini size”, it measures 2.1 x 1.7 x 1.2 inches (~53 x 43 x 30 mm) and weighs 4.2 oz (~120 g). The company suggests that this makes it 41% smaller than the equivalent Apple charger. Plus, it has foldable pins, and an “optimized center of gravity” should help to keep it stable when plugged in.
You can now buy the Anker Nano Charger (70W, 3 Ports) with a 4.9 ft USB-C to USB-C cable at Amazon in the US for $49.99. It is currently only available in black, though white, pink and green variants are shown in images on the product page. Whether or when a version of this product for the EU or UK markets could be released is unclear.
