Anbernic RG353V gaming handheld released alongside RG353VS with Android support and HDMI output
Anbernic has started selling the RG353V, a gaming handheld the company previewed earlier this month. Surprisingly, the company has also released the RG353VS, another version with slightly fewer features. Fundamentally, the pair are the same device though, as their names suggest.
As expected, the RG353V and RG353VS feature a 3.5-inch IPS display operating at 640 x 480 pixels with a Rockchip RK3566 chipset. Additionally, Anbernic includes 3,200 mAh batteries in both models, as well as an HDMI output. Bluetooth 4.2 and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi are on board too, as is a single speaker.
However, the RG353V has a few extra elements up its sleeve, including a touchscreen layer, double the RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash storage. Anbernic adds that the RG353V also supports wireless screen projection, presumably because of its Android 11 front-end. Incidentally, both models come with a Linux system, albeit an undisclosed distribution.
Currently, the Anbernic RG353VS starts at US$89.99 with a 16 GB microSD card in black, grey, purple and white colour options. Alternatively, the device is orderable with 64 GB or 256 GB of eMMC flash storage for US$97.99 and US$119.99, respectively. Conversely, the RG353V costs US$112.99, US$120.99 with 64 GB of storage or US$142.99 with 256 GB of storage. Anbernic states that orders will begin shipping from October 10 2022.
