Amazfit rolling out new major smartwatch update with map-related feature

Amazfit is pushing a new update to its Balance 2 XT smartwatch. The update arrives shortly after the company rolled out firmware version 2.16.2.1 to users of this wearable, a release which brought a weather data related optimization.
By comparison, the new Amazfit Balance 2 XT software version 2.17.0.4 update, reported on Reddit, is more significant. There are new audio-related features like Workout Audio Alerts. These are played during workouts, via the watch’s speaker or connected headphones, helping users to stay focused. Plus, the watch now supports audio from third-party sources in the Music app.
As we have seen with other recent Amazfit smartwatch updates, like one for the Balance 2 (curr. $299.99 at Amazon), the 2.17.0.4 update adds the new Lactate Threshold metric to the Balance 2 XT smartwatch. This data is designed to help users understand the intensity of their workout, as well as their endurance level. On top of this, the wearable has gained a Route Planning tool, allowing you to create routes either directly on the watch or in the Zepp app.
Software version 2.17.0.4 is rolling out in phases to users of the Balance 2 XT smartwatch. When available in your region, you should be able to download the update through the Zepp app.
