Amazfit introduces new smartwatch features with June update

The Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro is a relatively new smartwatch with a wide range of features that is also available in Germany. That feature set is now expanding significantly, and the changes are substantial enough for Zepp Health to address them again in a dedicated post on its own website and in the Amazfit blog. The changes are not entirely new, however. Still, they are expected to bring significant improvements, especially, but not exclusively, for athletes.
One significant change will not necessarily be immediately visible to users. According to Zepp Health, the company has adjusted the algorithms used to calculate the lactate threshold. This lactate threshold detection is ultimately only an approximation. The data obtained during the corresponding calibration is now supposed to have a system-wide effect. According to the manufacturer, the Launcher 2.0 architecture also brings further design optimizations, which should hopefully provide an even clearer overview of the currently most relevant real-time parameters during workouts. Vibration alerts can now be configured in more detail. In the best case, the vibration pattern could indicate which training phase is next and whether the current heart rate is too high.
According to the manufacturer, there are also improvements to the energy efficiency and battery use of the flashlight integrated into the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Pro. New navigation features are available as well, making it possible to search for POIs during an activity, such as looking for a supermarket during a bike ride to replenish energy supplies.
