Amazfit smartwatch update adds advanced running metrics and offline navigation

The Amazfit Balance 2 (available on Amazon) is receiving a new software update. Firmware version 3.50.4.1 is being rolled out in a 16.17 MB package, although it is not yet clear whether availability is already global. As usual, the update should gradually reach all users. In addition to bug fixes, the update introduces several new features. The most prominent feature in the changelog is the new Equivalent Pace metric, which factors in physiological data and elevation changes to translate performance on hilly terrain into a flat-route equivalent. This should make pacing easier and improve comparability between workouts.
Offline route creation has also been enhanced. Routes can now be planned and recalculated without an internet connection, even after deviating from the original path. Users with multiple Amazfit devices may benefit from improved synchronisation, which Zepp Health says leads to more consistent data within the app. The update also brings refinements for diving, including more accurate depth calculation and better detection of ascents and descents.
