Some US$ price tags for the Apple iPhone 14 range have been posted by LeaksApplePro, who has been right about some details in the past in regard to products coming out of Cupertino. However, it’s worth mentioning that a healthy dose of skepticism should be in place as there is a good chunk of the year to get through before an impending iPhone 14 launch event.
The leaker does claim that these prices are currently under consideration at Apple, which of course leaves room for the starting prices to change:
- Apple iPhone 14: US$799
- Apple iPhone 14 Max: US$899
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro: US$1,099
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max: US$1,199
There are a few take-aways to be had here, including the potential of an iPhone 14 having the same starting price as both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, which would likely delight many new Apple fans looking to get into the iOS ecosystem. The iPhone 14 Max appears to be a replacement for the Mini variant of the iPhones, so the base model gets a larger version this time around rather than a smaller edition.
The source also claims that the considerable US$200 gap between the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro is driven by “production costs”, although you would also expect the Pro models to be substantially more expensive anyway because of their superior specifications. Both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones get a US$100 price increase over their 2021 counterparts here.
14: $799

14 Max: $899
14 Pro: $1099
14 Pro Max: $1199
Apple is currently considering this.
Production costs are increasing and there has to be more than a $100 difference between the 14 Max and the 14 Pro.
Makes sense to me and wouldn’t expect changes.
Will keep you updated.
