Admittedly, that's still a very steep price for an RTX 5080 gaming laptop, but the price history shows that this is Amazon's lowest price since March and a decent 29% drop relative to the usual price of $4,919. Gigantic Alienware gaming laptop with good temps and not much noise

We reviewed an even higher-end model variant of this 18-inch behemoth and found a lot to like. This notebook puts a clear emphasis on performance, which is why its weight of over 9 lbs and footprint are massive. This also means that there is a lot of space inside for up to three SSDs and a big cooling system, which results in good temperatures even under load and relatively quiet fan noise even in performance mode, according to our measurements.

On the other hand, we would've liked to see better display options for this price as there are no 4K, mini-LED or OLED panels available for this machine. With that said, the Alienware 18 Area-51 remains a very expensive gaming laptop, but an almost $1,500 drop from the all-time high price on Amazon might be noteworthy for some gaming enthusiasts with deep pockets.
