Alcatel 1X and 3V coming to the US in the coming months
When the Alcatel 1X was unveiled in February, we heard that some future variants would come with facial recognition and a fingerprint scanner. Now, we hear that this Android Go-driven handset will hit the US in the coming months with a fingerprint reader. In addition to it, Alcatel will also bring the 3V phablet to the US market.
If you missed checking out the Alcatel 1X and Alcatel 3V when they arrived at MWC 2018, these are the highlights of their variants which will hit the US:
- Alcatel 1X: MediaTek MT6739 processor, 5.3-inch display with 960 x 480 pixels, Android Oreo Go, 1 GB or 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 5 MP front camera, 8 MP back camera, 2,460 mAh battery
- Alcatel 3V: MediaTek MT8735A processor, 6.0-inch display with 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, Android Oreo, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 5 MP front camera, 12 MP + 2 MP back camera, 3,000 mAh battery
The European model of the Alcatel 3V currently retails for 180 EUR, which is currently about US$221, and since all electronics are priced higher in the EU due to the local taxes, we should expect for the US variant of the Alcatel 3V to come for US$199.99. At last, the Alcatel 1X will probably come for US$99.99, since Alcatel mentioned a sub-US$100 price tag and it retails in Europe for US$125.
Both devices will come as unlocked GSM models, so AT&T and T-Mobile customers should not be worries about being unable to use them. We will return to them once Alcatel announces the launch dates and prices, but we would not be surprised to see the Alcatel 1X and 3V silently introduced in the US in a few weeks as well.
