Affordable GMK G11 mini PC launches with unusual AMD CPU

GMK has launched a new mini PC globally, the NucBox G11, and the barebone variant is quite affordable, especially with the launch discounts in place. The company is offering another $12 discount on top through a special coupon code.
As for the specs, the GMKtec NucBox G11 features the Ryzen Embedded R2514, a dated processor from the AMD Picasso lineup. It comes with 4 Zen+ cores and has the Radeon Vega 8 iGPU. The CPU is basically identical to the Ryzen 5 3500U, but it's designed for industrial and robotics AI-powered systems.
Of course, this isn't the first consumer-grade mini PC released with such a Ryzen Embedded processor. Aoostar recently released the N3A mini PC and NAS hybrid with the Embedded R2544, a processor with similar specs to the Ryzen 7 3750H.
Nonetheless, the GMK G11 has two M.2 slots, each of which can hold up to an 8TB SSD (WD_Black SN7100 2TB curr. $359 on Amazon). That makes the total storage support stand at 16TB, and the company highlights that this, paired with the low-power nature of the processor, makes the mini PC ideal for a NAS setup.
The system also has two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots that can hold up to 32GB of RAM. Port-wise, the mini PC has the following configuration:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 2x HDMI 2.0
- 2x 2.5G Ethernet
- 1x 3.5mm audio
There's WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity, and it's also worth noting that the mini PC has a relatively compact form factor. Regarding the price, with the GMKG1110 discount code applied, the barebone variant drops to $157.99, while the option with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage drops to $267.99.
GMKtec is offering a third configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and it goes for $287.99 with the coupon code. Check out the full spec sheet attached below to learn more about the NucBox G11.
