The number of laptops sporting Nvidia's latest budget Pascal GPU has been steadily growing since the initial reveal of the MX150 back in May. Acer was one of the first manufacturers to launch a MX150 notebook via its mainstream Aspire 5 series and the results were very impressive considering the thin Ultrabook class size.
Now, Acer will be preparing yet another MX150 notebook set to go on sale this upcoming January 8th. As reported by Laptopmain, the 15.6-inch Aspire A615-51G will be even cheaper than the aforementioned Aspire 5 while carrying both Kaby Lake-R i5-8250U and i7-8550U options alongside a 1080p IPS display, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB SSD with 1 TB of secondary HDD storage. The notebook should be able to provide a console-like gaming experience in an all-metal chassis just under 20 mm thick.
The timing of the launch is a mere day before the start of CES 2018. It's very likely that Acer and most other major manufacturers will reveal more superthin notebooks powered by MX150 graphics for an early 2018 launch window. Some are already available such as the HP Spectre x360 15 and Sager NP5852, but a handful of big players like Lenovo and Huawei are still lacking notebooks with MX150 options.
