Deal | Affordable AMD-powered laptop with 16 GB RAM, OLED display discounted by 47% once again

It appears that the well-spec'd HP OmniBook X Flip laptop is once again available for an all-time low price on Best Buy, courtesy of a roughly $630 discount which brings its price down to just under $700.

The laptop was available at this price around three weeks ago, but went back up soon after. It is unclear how long the laptop will remain discounted this time around, which is why potential customers are advised to act quickly if interested. 

To be more precise, this specific variant of the laptop comes equipped with a pretty decent AMD Ryzen AI 5 APU paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X 8000 RAM and 512 GB of solid-state storage. 

The laptop also features a 16-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1920 by 1200 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. HP claims 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which definitely should help with content consumption as well as creation. 

That is, of course, considering prospective buyers are willing to look past the panel's meager 141 PPI pixel density and 300 nits of peak brightness.

The quad-core AMD Ryzen AI 5 430 APU may sound abysmal in 2026, but actually packs enough CPU grunt to keep up with the Core Ultra 7 258V Lunar Lake CPU in multi-threaded synthetic benchmarks. 

On the GPU side of things, Radeon 840M iGPU is nothing worth writing home about either, but should be capable enough to handle some very lightweight gaming and other non-intensive GPU workloads.

In fact, its current pricing puts the laptop as a solid alternative for the 13-inch MacBook Neo (currently $690 on Amazon) for folks who can take advantage of the slightly higher screen real estate but are willing to look past the OmniBook's aforementioned flaws, such as its lower-res display.

In fact, the OmniBook does have a few notable advantages over the MacBook Neo. For starters, the OmniBook features an OLED panel, which is certain to boast much better contrast performance than the MacBook Neo's IPS panel. The OmniBook also features twice the amount of RAM and twice the amount of storage, and sports a far better I/O setup.
