Acer launching new lightweight laptop in November with 2.8K and 90 Hz OLED

Earlier this year, Acer introduced the Swift Air 14 to compete against the MacBook Neo (curr. $681 on Amazon). A budget 14-inch laptop, the Swift Air 14 combined Intel Wildcat Lake processors with a 70 Wh battery and a 120 Hz/1200p IPS display set within a premium-looking aluminium design.
Now, the company has headed in a completely different direction with its latest Swift Air 14 refresh. Specifically, it has given new SFA14-61M-A56Y/F and SFA14-61M-A76Y/F variants a 2,880 x 1,880 (2.8K) OLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The company has not confirmed brightness values or other display characteristics yet, though.
Instead, Acer has confirmed that the SFA14-61M-A56Y/F and SFA14-61M-A76Y/F leverage AMD's Ryzen AI 5 330 and Ryzen AI 7 345 processors, respectively. Both variants contain 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage within a 960 g and 14.9 mm-thick housing, too.
Acer's new Swift Air 14 SKUs will arrive on November 27 in Japan. According to PC Watch, these variants will start at approximately JPY 280,000 (~$1,780), making it about twice the price of its Wildcat Lake-powered alternatives in Japan. Acer has not commented on international availability yet.
