Acer launches compact gaming tablet with 8.8-inch 3K 165Hz display and 512GB storage

Acer has introduced a new compact gaming tablet in China under its Shadow Knight lineup, which is associated with the company's Nitro gaming brand in international markets. The company has also recently introduced the Iconia Tab 11 5G and Tab 12 5G.
The tablet features an 8.8-inch LCD with a resolution of 3,008 × 1,880 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Its native refresh rate is 144Hz, with an overclocked mode reaching 165Hz. The display supports multi-touch input, while the tablet weighs approximately 355g (0.78lb) and measures less than 7mm (0.28 inches) thick.
The tablet uses MediaTek's Dimensity 8300 processor, which has eight cores and speeds of up to 3.35 GHz. It is built using a 4 nm process and comes with a Mali-G615 GPU for graphics.
Acer offers the tablet with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, or 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It runs Android 15.
The Xiaomi Pad Mini, which we have reviewed, uses the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, giving it a performance advantage over Acer's Dimensity 8300-based tablet.

The G710 supports 5G cellular connectivity and dual-band Wi-Fi. Its camera setup includes an 8MP front-facing camera and a 13MP rear camera with autofocus. Other features include dual speakers and a 6,300mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging.
Acer has equipped the tablet with two USB-C ports, although the available product information does not specify their data-transfer speeds. Color options include Red Eye Silver and Shadow Gray.
The Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5 offers similar display specifications but uses the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Unlike the Acer tablet, it does not support cellular connectivity, giving Acer an advantage for users who want mobile internet access away from Wi-Fi.
