Reviews for the Acer Swift X SFX14-71G

86.3% Acer Swift X 14 2023 OLED review - The multimedia laptop with an RTX 4050 is only impressive on paper | Notebookcheck
Acer have updated their Swift X 14 - this time giving the multimedia laptop a fresh new case, a new OLED panel as well as new components from Intel and Nvidia. Unfortunately, the total package of this $1,400 device seems to only impress on paper and next to its relatively short battery life in everyday use, the laptop's cooling system also proves to cause some issues.
90% Acer Swift X14 review: a powerhouse machine with Ultrabook looks
Source: Techradar English
The Acer Swift X14 comes with a gorgeous screen, a fairly sleek Ultrabook profile, and an outsized amount of power thanks to its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. However, it's pricey and there are a couple issues with the trackpad and webcam. Still, this is an amazing option for those that want power in a slim package.

Source: PC Mag English
In a vacuum, the Acer Swift X 14 would be a superb machine with plenty of portability, power for productivity and media creation, and a sleek design that looks fantastic, thanks to its elegant aluminum chassis and pleasing OLED display. On paper, it's a compelling mix of features. However, the reality falls a bit short. Yes, it provides ample power for daily productivity and editing photos and video. But, in this price range and with this hardware, the performance and battery life are consistently outperformed by competitors like the Apple MacBook Pro 14 and Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra, not to mention the Editors' Choice-award-winning Lenovo Slim Pro 9i (14.5-Inch). It's not a bad laptop, or a bad purchase, but the Acer Swift X 14 is just not the most compelling option you could buy in its range.

Acer Swift X 14 Malaysia review: This is my new favourite laptop
Source: Soycincau English
That being said, the Swift X 14 still ended up being one of if not my most favourite laptop that I’ve used this year, thanks to the fact that it can do so many things. It’s this kind of versatility that, as a content creator and an avid gamer, keeps bringing me back to the Swift X lineup. And with the new OLED display, the Swift X 14 has fixed the biggest error its predecessor had—almost enough to make me forget its higher price tag.

90% Acer Swift X 14 Review
Source: Trusted Reviews English
The Swift X 14 doesn’t get everything right, but it’s a brilliant laptop for mobile creatives, with a screen and ergonomics you can work with all day long and ample CPU and GPU power. It also comes in a form factor small and light enough that it won’t weigh you down between home and a client, or the office. There are some other strong options out there, with their own fantastic OLED screens. These include the Asus Zenbook 15 OLED and Zenbook S 13 OLED, not to mention Acer’s own Swift Go 14. Yet none of these offer the same combination of portability, screen quality and dedicated GPU performance, even if each one beats the Swift X 14 in one area or another. This is where Acer’s latest comes out on top, providing everything you’d want for professional design, graphics or video in a package that’s not just practical, but premium in every way. Acer Swift X 14 review: Powerful, portable and stylish
Source: Pocket Lint English
The Acer Swift 14 X melds style laptop elements with those of a pure performance PC. And it mostly works, especially as Acer doesn't charge through the nose considering what you get here. It's fairly slim, made of metal, has a great screen and also offers enough power that video editors and less demanding gamers be more than happy with. In return you have to limit your battery life expectations, and accept that fan noise will be a thing 99 per cent of the time.

This Acer laptop may be the most affordable way to have an Nvidia 40 Series GPU
Source: Zdnet.com English
If you are buying this, I recommend going all out by purchasing the model with the GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card. It'll cost you around $1,500, but you do benefit greatly from the more powerful and capable hardware. If you're on a budget, you can opt for the GeForce RTX 3050 which will run you $1,099. Rendering will be a little slower, but it's still plenty powerful and more than capable for design work.

80% Acer Swift X 14 (2023) review
Source: Tech Advisor English
Acer’s Swift X 14 is a solid choice for anyone looking to purchase a compact, powerful laptop at a reasonable price. It provides strong CPU and GPU performance, a spacious solid state drive, excellent OLED display, and even has a pleasant keyboard and touchpad. Battery life is the only serious problem, but make no mistake, it’s a significant one. Still, the Swift X 14 could be good value if your journeys usually take you to a local coffee shop instead of the airport.

75% Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G) laptop review
Source: Mezha EN English
Acer Swift X 14 is a laptop with really good potential. They managed to make this model quite attractive in appearance, portable, gave it a cool OLED display, a really convenient keyboard and trackpad, it has good components and a not so small battery. But, unfortunately, it was not without shortcomings: the speakers are weak, and the cooling system almost does not go into passive mode. However, not the weakest components in such a case can still balance the situation. The only real complaint is the cost, but nice things never came cheap.

Acer Swift X 14 (2023) Review
Source: USA Today English
The Acer Swift X 14 has a few mediocre features, like the average battery life and the oversized touchpad that you might accidentally activate with your palms. But if you’re a content creator looking for a new laptop, you likely already have an external keyboard, mouse, touchpad, and possibly a professional webcam and microphone. (If you’re obsessed with sound, you might even have external speakers or quality headphones.) So none of the Swift X 14’s shortcomings should prominently factor into your purchase decision. What you should factor in is performance. While the Swift X 14 lags behind pretty much all MacBooks when it comes to GPU performance, especially the Apple MacBook Pro 16 M1 Max and the Apple MacBook Pro 14 M2 Pro, it’s on par with or ahead of other Windows machines.

80% Acer Swift X 2023 review — this RTX 4050 laptop is a steal
Source: Laptop Mag English
I’m big on battery life, and unfortunately, the Swift X 14’s 7-hour runtime just doesn’t cut it for our spot on our best laptops page. You may argue that this isn’t half bad for a laptop with an RTX 4050 GPU, but keep in mind that the Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra has 9 hours of battery life and packs the same exact specs. At the same time, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is significantly pricier than the Acer laptop, which has a painful price tag of $2,400 — that’s nearly $1,000 more than the Swift X 14! As such, you’ll have to consider whether the performance bump and the extra battery life is worth an additional $1,000. The MSI Stealth 14 Studio was a champ in this review, beating both the Acer and Samsung laptops. It costs $1,799, which is a little more palatable than Samsung’s price tag, but its 3-hour battery life is abysmal. That being said, the Swift X 14 may be the best choice. It has more than enough power to handle your content creation tasks and has decent battery life, but it won’t break the bank.

70% Acer Swift X 14 review: fast but not long-lasting
Source: Digital Trends English
At $1,500, the Swift X 14 provides surprisingly good performance for creators with an OLED display to match. It’s an excellent option for anyone looking to create on the go, and it competes well against some other, larger laptops like the Dell XPS 15 9530. Its battery life is pretty bad, though, and its design is nothing to write home about. Even so, if you want speed and portability, then the Swift X 14 is a solid choice for the money.

86% Acer Swift X 14 Review: Staid but Speedy OLED Ultraportable
Source: CNet English
Beneath a compact and admittedly mundane exterior hides a powerful, OLED ultraportable for content creators. The Acer Swift X 14 is endowed with a gorgeous 14.5-inch OLED display and powered by the latest Intel and Nvidia silicon in the form of a 13th-gen Core i7 CPU and an RTX 4050 GPU. We usually find such a duo in a larger machine; content creation laptops typically feature 16- or 17-inch displays to give creators more room to work. Like the Lenovo Slim Pro 7, the Swift X 14 provides the needed muscle for demanding graphics work but in a more portable package. Our $1,500 Swift X 14 review system costs $300 more than the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 I recently reviewed, and I think it's money well spent. Both laptops feature drab exteriors, but the Swift X 14 gets you an OLED display that's clearly superior to the Slim Pro 7's plain-Jane IPS panel. Colors are more vivid, the contrast ratio is vastly better with true black levels, the resolution is slightly higher, and it's even a bit faster with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G) review – going to a gunfight with a knife
Source: Laptop Media English
Ladies and gentlemen, the Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G) is not an ordinary product. It is not a gaming laptop, but at the same time, it can play almost all AAA titles at reasonable fps and 1080p resolution. Thankfully, it is able to fulfill the promised 50W TGP of the RTX 3050 (in our case), but the lack of good P-core utilization means that you will experience heavy throttling in some titles. Especially such that have large maps, and require some help from the CPU. Weirdly, there is a MUX switch on this device – or at least you are able to use only the dedicated GPU. This setting is configurable through BIOS. Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-71G)’s IPS panel has a WQXGA resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. It covers 98% of the sRGB color gamut and has an accurate color representation with our Gaming and Web design profile.

Model:

The latest to join the Acer Swift line-up is none other than the Acer Swift X 14. In terms of its design, Acer have completely revamped the case of this multimedia laptop as compared to last year's Swift X 14. The shape of the aluminium case is straighter with the grey laptop looking a little more stripped-back. As for the black keyboard and screen frame, both differs slightly in colour as compared to the rest. Apart from that, the bezels are also very slim, making the device looking quite modern. It is also worth noting that fingerprint marks does not seem to be a big issue on the laptop's smooth surfaces.

As for the base unit, it is quite nice and stable with only a considerable amount of pressure applied to the keyboard makes it bend slightly. However, the lid is a little bit more flexible, but thanks to its OLED panel, the screen shows no image errors. On the other hand, both of the hinges tends to do their job quite well by making it rather easy to open the laptop with one hand and also prevents the lid from wobbling effectively. The maximum opening angle for the lid is about 135 degrees. As far as its connectivity is concerned, this laptop has been equipped with USB-A ports as well as modern USB-C connections which includes Thunderbolt 4 support. Furthermore, in contrast to its predecessor, this new Acer model has been equipped with a microSD card reader.

Talking about its keyboard, it has the same precise and crisp feel as that of its predecessor. However, its tapping noise is nice and quiet though. Overall, it is a good keyboard but it is definitely undeniable that the two vertical arrow keys are evidently small. On the other hand, there is also a fingerprint scanner which has been integrated into the power button, situated on the top right side and can easily be confused with the delete key. In dark lighting conditions, there is a choice between two levels of white backlighting for the users to pick from. In addition, the click pad works just fine and its clicks have quite a high-quality feel, as they are rather subtle and quiet.

The display is one of the biggest changes in this laptop as the 14-inch IPS panel found on its predecessor has been replaced with a bigger OLED panel which measures 14.5 inches diagonally. In addition, its resolution is 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and its surface is really quite reflective. Overall, the display shows nice levels of contrast and colours appear nice and vibrant. Furthermore, it operates at a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. As for its processor, instead of using the P chip which could be found in the old model, this new version of the Swift X 14 uses the 45-watt processor Core i7-13700H which allows this model to perform very well. In a nutshell, it is a great laptop to be explored, depending on the need and preference of the user.

14.50":

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.

In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.

Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.

80.66%: This rating is slightly above average, there are somewhat more devices with worse ratings. However, clear purchase recommendations look different.
