The Acer Swift 3x is proof you don’t have to shell out a ton of cash to get a fantastic laptop with a whole lot of features to boot. The others have all the fame, this 14-inch offering from Acer might just be the underdog that will give them a good run for their money.

The Acer Swift 3x is a performance powerhouse, knocking all of its rivals out of the ring on our benchmark tests. Compared to its three competitors, the Swift 3x has the zippiest CPU, the fastest SSD, the best graphics prowess and the widest DCI-P3 coverage.

The Acer Swift 3X is an ultraportable, affordable, and competently designed laptop for creators—a combination you don't see often. Intel's Xe Max GPU unlocks strikingly good performance but only in specific creation workloads. If your work apps support Intel's Deep Link software, you'll love this.

The $1,200 Acer Swift 3X truly surprised and impressed me. Our only real gripe with last year’s Swift 3 was with its performance. The Swift 3X’s combination of discrete Intel Xe Max graphics and an 11th-gen Tiger Lake processor puts that concern to rest. This tiny laptop is fast. It’s also, slender, light, and long-lasting on battery. We wish the notebook had a more color-accurate screen and an SD card slot to play up its creation focus, but those are more nitpicks than deal-breakers.

The Acer Swift 3X might not look all too different from the PC maker's regular Swift 3, and that's because it isn't. The X in the name is to let you know what's inside: Intel's Iris Xe Max, its first discrete graphics processor in more than 20 years. Combined with its 11th-gen Intel Core processor, the Swift 3X is elevated from what would normally be a good, general-purpose, thin-and-light laptop to one that can meet the basic needs of creators and creatives without giving up battery life and mobility or costing a small fortune.

The Acer Swift 3X is available with a Core i7-1165G7 CPU, which is the variant that I had for this review, or an Intel Core i5-1135G7 CPU, with the rest of the configuration staying the same. The Core i7 variant is priced at an MRP of Rs. 1,09,999, while the Core i5 variant is priced at Rs. 92,999. You should be able to find these models selling for a bit less on Acer's online store and at other e-tailers such as Flipkart and Amazon.

In conclusion, if you’re keen on getting a lightweight laptop that's productivity-focused, you might want to consider getting the cheaper Intel Core-i5 variant of the Acer Swift 3x that is priced at RM3799. However, if you need more performance then we suggest one of the Intel Core-i7 variants, which cost as low as RM4599.

Finally, we’ve seen Intel make a real effort in the discrete GPU market. At least for laptops. If 2020 wasn’t weird enough, now it is. Nevertheless, we still think that they have a lot of work to be done, particularly in the software. As the 3DMark Firestrike Graphics score suggests, the Iris Xe Max Graphics has the raw power to compete even with the GeForce GTX 1050. However, real-world tests showed that the performance was slightly better than the MX350, and pretty much on par with the integrated Iris Xe Graphics G7.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Above all, this display size is used for subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles. For all three types, this size is quite large. The biggest variety of subnotebooks is represented with this size.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.1.4 kg:
In former time,s this weight was typical for big tablets, small subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 10-11 inch display-diagonal. Nowadays, often 15 inch laptops weigh as much.

The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors and televisions. Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell also belong to the Group and sell their own laptops.
While Acer still had the third largest global market share in the notebook segment in 2008, it ranked 6th in 2016 with a market share of 6% after they had continuously lost market shares.
There are dozens of Acer laptop reviews per month, the ratings are average (as of 2016). Gateway, which has an own laptop line-up, has also belonged to the Acer Group since 2007.
