Acer has shown off some new gaming laptops at Computex 2025. The Predator Helios Neo 14 AI is your run-of-the-mill compact gaming laptop packed to the brim with high-end hardware from Intel and Nvidia. As is the case with most laptops in this category, some compromises have to be made to keep thermals in check.
That's why the Predator Helios Neo 14 AI is limited to a GeForce RTX 5070/RTX 5060 laptop GPUs from Nvidia. Their 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM might have trouble running games on the 14.5-inch 2.8K WQXGA+ (2,880 x 1,800), OLED panel with a 0.2 ms response time, and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. On the plus side, its Intel Core Ultra 9 285H/Core Ultra 7 255H CPU will ensure you won't get CPU bound.
Alternatively, the screen can be configured with a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) IPS panel with 165 Hz refresh rate, 400 Nits brightness, 100% sRGB colour gamut coverage and 3 ms response time. Both Predator Helios Neo 14 AI variants support Nvidia Advanced Optimus, allowing for seamless transitions between the iGPU and dGPU. Acer offers up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7647 RAM and a 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD for memory and storage. A second SSD slot is available for additional expansion.
Other specs include a 1080p webcam with an IR sensor, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and a 76 Wh battery. For I/O, you get one Thunderbolt 4.0 port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, one micro SD card reader and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack. You can buy the Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 AI in July 2025 starting at EUR 1,699 ($1,905).
