Reviews for the Acer Liquid E3 / E380
2 in 1. The Liquid E3 Duo offered by Acer is a middle class smartphone, which has a Dual-SIM function. Customers who absolutely want to have this feature did not have a large selection up to now and they had to accept compromises. Does the manufacturer offer a suitable solution without neglecting other important features?

After spending a lot of time with the Acer Liquid E3, there is no doubt that this handset has been aimed at younger students, those that are in high school rather than at University. The price tag screams of a handset that you won't mind if it gets bashed up on the playground, and the forward facing flash is aimed very heavily at the selfie loving youngsters.

The Acer Liquid E3 has a few standout features but as a full package doesn’t really cut it against the big boys. The Acer Liquid E3 is a good mid-range Android phone in many ways, but the sluggish performance really lets it down.

The Acer Liquid E3 is a tough phone to rate because it has some really outstanding features like the camera options, the display and the front-facing speakers, but suffers from a slow processor, a design that won't appeal to everyone, old software and a lack of storage space or 4G. If you want a phone with a great camera at a low price, the Acer Liquid E3 will probably satisfy you, but if you also want to play games, store lots of files or get faster internet connection, the Acer Liquid isn't for you. We'd recommend carefully considering options like the Motorola Moto G and Sony Xperia M2 before opting for the Liquid E3.

Model:
With its rounded, elegant design, the Acer Liquid E3 E380 is a low-end beauty. The smartphone comes in full matte black accented with a touch of red around the camera and at the screen bezel. There are indications that a white model and a dual-SIM model will be released as well. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean smartphone comes equipped with a MediaTek MT6589 Cortex-A7 quad core processor clocked at 1.20 GHz, 1 GB RAM and a built-in storage of 4 GB.
The small storage is acceptable at the price range and can be solved thanks to MicroSD support. The 4.7 inch IPS LCD touchscreen is powered by a PowerVR SGX544 GPU and the image quality is very good. There are a 13 MP auto-focus camera and a 2 mega-pixel front facing secondary camera. Sound quality is also good with DTS sound enhancement and the device can be pretty loud. Other features include GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and a Li-Ion battery, which enables up to 5 hours of talk time.

This display is tiny. You will probably see very little on the screen and be able to use mini-resolutions.

Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.
67.67%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
