Reviews for the Acer Aspire Vero AV16-51P

80% Acer Aspire Vero 16 review: A greener laptop that's great for business
Source: It Pro English
This isn't what you'd call an exciting PC, but it is a practical one. It's fast enough for general productivity uses and has decent ergonomics. Its connectivity isn't cutting-edge, but it covers everything you need right now. We'd love to see it with a more efficient Core Ultra 7 200 series CPU and a 1440p resolution screen, but either might have sent the price north of £1,000. What's more, the screen you have is fit for business – and a big improvement on the displays of Lenovo's ThinkPad E16 and Acer's own office workhorse, the TravelMate P2. The ThinkPad has a better keyboard, but the Aspire Vero 16 beats it in most other respects, including value. Its green features are a selling point, but it doesn't need to rely on them alone. At under £900 inc VAT you're getting a substantial business laptop with solid eco-credentials on top.

Acer Aspire Vero 16 hands on: I tried the world's first oyster shell laptop
Source: Techradar English
Overall the Acer Aspire Vero 16 is an amazing laptop, providing you with great performance at a low price point. As if that wasn’t already good enough, you get a clean conscience as the casing is made from 70% recycled materials and is gorgeous. One downside is the material feels quite cheap, but this can easily be looked past when you consider all of the other benefits which are on offer. It’s somewhat frustrating that the regional pricing of this laptop makes it less affordable outside of the US and I hope Acer can adjust this prior to the laptop’s release in April.

80% Acer Aspire Vero 16 (2024) review: A solid laptop that’s greener than most
Source: Expert Reviews English
The Aspire Vero 16 is a far more impressive package than the original Aspire Vero 15 thanks to a much superior display. Combine that with its undeniably green manufacturing credentials and the interesting plastic offset campaign and I’d describe it as a compelling offer, assuming you don’t plan on using it for any jobs that will expose its performance shortcomings. At the top end of the range, I think the Vero 16 is over-priced, but go for the entry-level model with the Core Ultra 5 125U CPU, buy a second SSD with the money you save and you’ll have a good value package that might let you sleep at night.

70% Acer Aspire Vero 16 (2024) Review
Source: Trusted Reviews English
The Acer Aspire Vero 16 is an eco-friendly and relatively affordable laptop with reliable ability in several key areas. It’s fast enough for everyday workloads, has a good screen and a battery that lasts all day. While other laptops are faster, the $840/£899 price is solid, too. It may not beat some rivals in particular areas, like performance or screen quality, but it’s a rock-solid daily workhorse with bonus sustainability credentials.

In around 18 months Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 so now is the time to start looking for a suitable Windows 11 machine. This offering from Acer in the Aspire series supports 'the earth' by using more suitable components, they name this feature VERO.

75% Acer Aspire Vero 16 review: Could be better, but doesn’t need to be
Source: PC World English
The Acer Aspire Vero 16 is a cute, eco-conscious laptop (if you ignore its soldered on memory). It offers a decent all-around package that leaves very little to complain about. It’s performance is up to snuff in everyday use, with only a few snags here and there when it’s overloaded with browser tabs. While nothing about it is remarkable, its average marks in just about every category are worthy of some praise for a machine coming in at $750. There’s more performance and more exceptional designs available from quite a few other laptops coming in below $1,000, but the Acer Aspire Vero 16 is still the cheapest by a wide enough margin that anyone who can’t stretch their budget or stomach the smaller screens can rest assured the Acer Aspire Vero 16 isn’t a bad alternative. And it might just be a better option for the environment.

This $749 Acer laptop is secretly one of the most innovative gadgets I've tested this year
Source: Zdnet.com English
If you're looking at buying a laptop made with sustainable materials, the Acer Aspire Vero 16 has some of the most impressive stats out there. I, for one, applaud Acer's efforts in continuing to raise the bar with sustainable devices. There will come a time when being made with eco-friendly materials is the norm, not just a selling point, but for now, the Acer Aspire Vero is a statement-making machine. The laptop's hardware places it firmly in the mid-tier range, and its performance (and price) reflects that. For this reason, the Vero is a fantastic choice as a second laptop, a device for students, or as a travel laptop, or for anyone interested in reducing their carbon footprint. If you're looking for a more high-end laptop also made from sustainable materials, check out the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon for $1,700. If you're looking for a similarly-priced laptop with a 14-inch screen, take a look at the Acer Swift Go 14 (2024) for $899.

70% Acer Vero 16 review: green laptop offers some creative potential
Source: Creative Bloq English
If you need quick results from the latest creative apps, then this might not be the right laptop for you. Its processor, while made from Intel’s latest energy-efficient clevernesses, doesn’t have the raw grunt for Blender or heavy video work that you’ll see elsewhere. What it does well is as an office machine or image editor, especially as it’s well connected via Thunderbolt and HDMI, so can hook up to big screens and fast external storage, even if you might need an Ethernet adapter. The 2TB of SSD on board also means it can empty your memory cards nicely if you’re out on a shoot, and it has no trouble running Photoshop. Its eco credentials also mean you can get the warm glow of knowing you’re helping the planet - or at least damaging it a bit less - by using it, and that has to count for something.

Hands on: Acer Aspire Vero 16: a more sustainable laptop that won’t hurt the wallet
Source: Techradar English
The Aspire Vero 16 is a solid 16-inch laptop that beats out most others in the 16-inch market thanks largely to its extremely affordable price point. Simply being cheap isn’t enough of course, and the Vero 16 has a great webcam with a physical shutter, is lightweight despite its size, and is running on the Intel Core Ultra CPU. However, it's missing an Ethernet port and microSD slot, which is annoying.

Intel Graphics 4-Core: Integrated graphics card based on the Xe LPG architecture (similar to the dedicated Arc GPUs, but with a focus on efficiency). Provides 4 Xe cores (64 Xe vector engines) and 4 ray tracing units.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

The 4-core Intel Arc Graphics, just out of the oven, serves as the integrated graphics adapter - this runs at up to 1.95 GHz - and there is a bevy of other brand-new technologies on offer as well including the integrated AI Boost NPU with two Gen 3 engines for hardware AI workload acceleration. This laptop processor's Base power consumption is 15 W, with 57 W being its maximum Intel-recommended Turbo power consumption.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

16.00":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.

Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.

78.38%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
