Devolver Digital stays true to its trademark style with Stick It to the Stickman, delivering another quirky indie game filled with dark humor and absurd ideas. This physics-based brawler blends the drudgery of office life with over-the-top combat and roguelike mechanics – and judging by the very positive reviews, players are clearly enjoying it.

Devolver Digital has built a reputation for backing quirky and unconventional games, with titles like Hotline Miami, Cult of the Lamb and Enter the Gungeon showcasing the publisher's flair for offbeat ideas and dark humor. Stick It to the Stickman, which entered Early Access on Steam on August 18, 2025, continues that tradition. The game is developed by Free Lives, the studio behind Broforce, known for its fondness for unconventional game concepts.

In Stick It to the Stickman, players step into the shoes of a low-level stickman employee fighting their way up the ranks of a hilariously absurd corporation. The setting is a satirical office nightmare where coworkers, managers and even the CEO must be taken down by any means necessary. Gameplay blends physics-based brawling with roguelike mechanics, ensuring each run feels unique. Along the way, players unlock new moves, abilities and bizarre power-ups – ranging from simple punches and kicks to machine guns, caffeine-fueled frenzies and even fart-powered attacks.

Free Lives and Devolver plan to keep Stick It to the Stickman in Early Access for over a year, with regular content updates already in the works. Upcoming additions include new work environments such as marketing departments, doomsday bunkers and research labs – each bringing fresh mechanics to shake up the gameplay. In addition to the solo mode, the game also offers local co-op, letting a second player jump in at any time to join the chaos.

Players are calling Stick It to the Stickman absurd yet highly entertaining. “Probably the best game I ever spent $4 on,” wrote user Exotc on Steam. He and a friend had been waiting for the Early Access release since the free demo three years ago and now describe it as “the best co-op experience” they’ve had in a long time. They’re not alone – the game currently holds a 97% positive rating from nearly 950 reviews. It is ranked first in SteamDB’s “Hot Releases” chart and has already peaked at over 2,800 concurrent players. Early Access is priced at just about $5, with a free demo also available for anyone wanting to try it out first. And for mobile gamers, there’s more good news: Stick It to the Stickman is verified for the Steam Deck (available on Amazon for $475) .
