ASRock has announced the PG34WQ15R2B, a curved gaming monitor that measures 34-inches across. Equipped with a VA panel, the PG34WQ15R2B also has a 1500R curvature and a 21:9 aspect ratio. As its name implies, the PG34WQ15R2B operates at WQHD too, with its 3,440 x 1,440-pixel native resolution complemented by a 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response times (MPRT).
Additionally, the gaming monitor offers up to 550 cd/m² of typical peak brightness, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Incidentally, ASRock claims that the 34-inch display achieves 91% DCI-P3 and 115% sRGB colour space coverages, along with AMD FreeSync Premium support for keeping image tearing in check. Unfortunately, the company has opted for HDMI 2.0 ports rather than the newer HDMI 2.1, eliminating variable refresh rate (VRR) compatibility with current generation consoles.
Still, the PG34WQ15R2B also has a DisplayPort 1.4 port that supports its full 48 Hz-165 Hz refresh rate range. Separately, the PG34WQ15R2B comes with an integrated Wi-Fi antenna (7 dBi), plus twin 2 W speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, as well as a stand that supports up to 100 mm height adjustment, has a +20° ~ -20° swivel range and a +20° ~ -7° tilt range. Alternatively, ASRock includes a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount, should you prefer to use a third-party stand. Currently, the gaming monitor is orderable from Newegg for US$429.99. Presumably official pricing, ASRock has not shared how much the gaming monitor will cost in other markets yet.
