AMD Ryzen 5000 processors can now reach 5.0 GHz with CTR 2.1 update
Yuri Bubily has announced a new version of Clock Tuner for Ryzen (CTR), the popular overclocking utility for AMD desktop processors. Bubily, who posts as @1usmus on Twitter, teased a new version of their tool last week, as we reported. The CTR 2.1 update should allow Zen 3 processors to reach and exceed 5.0 GHz, as an EZ PC Tech video briefly showed yesterday.
CTR has received many new features with the 2.1 update, including a Hybrid OC mode and a profiles tab. You can view the changes in the images below. CTR 2.1 looks a lot cleaner than CTR 2.0 too, in our opinion.
CTR 2.1 is currently available to Bubily's Patreon subscribers. Bubily has released three CTR 2.1 beta builds on Patreon so far, but a general release is planned. CTR 2.0 has not been forgotten about, though. In a separate tweet, Bubily explained that he hoped to release a CTR 2.0 RC4 update by the end of this week, which would feature a new profile system, among other changes.
