The ADO Air folding e-bike will soon begin crowdfunding via an Indiegogo Campaign. The ultra-light electric bicycle weighs just 16 kg (~35.2 lbs) with an aluminum frame and can be folded in half to make it easier to transport or store. The bike has a carbon belt which should be more efficient and require less maintenance than a chain equivalent.
Multiple models of ADO Air will be on offer, with a US edition that features a throttle; an EU-compliant variant lacks this part. Plus, an intelligent torque sensor to monitor your pedal power and adjust the 37 Nm motor's assistance accordingly. A 36 V 10 Ah Samsung battery will provide up to 100 km (~62 miles) of range and can be fully recharged in four to six hours. A built-in color IPS display shows your speed and can be used to control features like the headlights. The bicycle comes with a smartphone app, which you can use to navigate, remotely lock the bike and view journey statistics such as distance travelled or the battery charge level.
Details such as a top assistance speed and payload are yet to be announced by the company. It is also currently unclear what the pledge levels for the ADO Air folding e-bike Indiegogo campaign will be. However, the crowdfunding page suggests early birds can get up to 40% off the electric bicycle. Customers can choose from three colors when the Indiegogo campaign launches on February 15: Ivory, Pastel blue, and Indigo Grey.
