Bikee has announced that the Lightest ebike kit is now being produced at scale. The lightweight electric bicycle conversion kit can weigh as little as 4.0 kg (~8.8 lbs). Several versions are available, including an EU-compliant 250 W motor and 250 Wh battery set, and a range-topping 1,000 W 120 Nm motor with an 840 Wh power pack.

The Lightest ebike kit has entered mass production. First seen on Indiegogo in 2020, the kit enables you to convert an ordinary bike into an electric one. The product is only now being produced at scale due to slower-than-forecast progress and several issues. Bikee, the company behind the kit, claims it is the lightest e-bike mid-drive motor on the market, weighing in at 1.75 kg (~3.9 lbs). This means that the entry-level 250 W motor kit, including a 250 Wh battery, will add 4.0 kg (~8.8 lbs) to the weight of your bike. The top-end 100 W variant, the heaviest kit, weighs around 5.5 kg (~12.1 lbs).

Several versions of the Lightest ebike kit are on offer, with 250 W to 1,000 W rated motors and corresponding 250 W to 840 Wh batteries. Performance-wise, the 250 W kit provides a 35 km (~22 mile) range and top speeds of 25 kph (~16 mph), making it EU regulation compliant. The high torque 1,000 W 120 Nm motor allows top speeds of 45 kph (~25 mph) and 120 km (~75 miles) range on a single charge. A zero-drag mode makes you feel like you are riding a regular bike, and the kit includes a torque sensor.

You can currently buy the entry-level Lightest ebike kit for the discounted price of €499 (~US$537), 25% off the €669 (~US$719) RRP. The range-topping 1,000 W edition with High Torque currently costs around €1,312 (~US$1,411). New orders are expected to be delivered from March 2023.
