TCL replaced the 2024 QM751G Mini LED TV with the launch of the TCL QM7K this year. As is often the case with consumer technology, the release of a newer model results in the older model dropping in price. Retailers do this to clear inventory and make space for the updated model.
This seems to have happened with the 85-inch TCL QM751G, as the TV can now be had for just $1,299.99 at Best Buy instead of the full $1,799.99 list price. Based on the hardware on offer and Rtings’ review, the 85-inch TCL QM751G is quite a good value.
Per Rtings, the TCL QM751G’s main selling points include the TV’s high brightness, superb contrast, wide color gamut coverage, impressive color volume, and must-have gaming features like a 144 Hz refresh rate.
Looking at some numbers, the Peak 25% Window HDR Brightness of over 1,400 nits and a Real Scene Peak SDR Brightness of over 600 nits make the TCL QM751G plenty bright for HDR/SDR use. The Local Dimming contrast of the TV is also quite good at 135,500:1. Combined with 92% DCI-P3 coverage, the TCL QM751G will provide an impactful viewing experience.
However, keep in mind that the TV requires user calibration to get the most accurate colors. Also, the reflection handling and the viewing angles aren’t anything to write home about. Users who need these qualities will, therefore, have to look elsewhere.
Moving on to gaming features, the TCL QM71G refreshes at a fast 144 Hz, supports VRR, has low input lag, and short response time. So, whether you are a PC gamer or someone with a PS5, the TCL QM751G should be a great gaming companion.
