Xiaomi has started pushing out the MIUI 12 beta stable ROM for users of the Global variant of the Redmi Note 7. At the present, the Android-based software should start arriving on some selected Redmi Note 7 smartphones as an over-the-air (OTA) update. Devices with the Indonesia or Russia ROM should follow soon.

The MIUI 12 saga continues with the Global model of the Redmi Note 7 being one of the latest smartphones to see Xiaomi’s overlay coming its way. The update has already been rolled out to devices in China and India, with some users of the Europe variant also receiving MIUI 12 recently. An official post on the Mi Community forum has confirmed it is now the Global Redmi Note 7 that is being served.

The software, version V12.0.1.0.QFGMIXM (“MI” for Global devices), has been pushed out to random Redmi Note 7 smartphones in a beta form, so there may still be some glitches or bugs for Xiaomi to deal with. There are some sources offering download links for this particular update; however, as always Xiaomi warns against sharing the ROM link.

If everything goes smoothly, then a wider public MIUI 12 rollout for owners of the Global model will begin within a week or so. Redmi Note 7 users with either the Indonesia device or Russia variant are expected to start receiving MIUI 12 very soon. The Redmi Note 7 was released in February 2019 and came with MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.
