Xiaomi announces 2024 Redmi Book Pro 14 and 16 laptops

The Xiaomi Redmi Book Pro series is getting a 2024 refresh. This new laptop lineup is confirmed to make its debut on February 22 alongside the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro and Xiaomi 14 Ultra in China. However, the company has only offered a few details of the notebooks.

According to the official announcement, the new 2024 series will have two Redmi Book Pro laptops. One will feature a 14-inch screen, and the other will flaunt a 16-inch display. While Xiaomi didn't specify what processors would power each laptop, it confirmed that the range will offer up to 70W of performance.

Looking back, the 2023 Redmi Book Pro 14 was available with the Intel Core i5-12500H and Core i7-12700H. Considering that most of the newly released laptops are coming with the Intel Meteor Lake chipsets, the 2024 Pro 16 and Pro 14 will likely debut with the Intel Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 5 processors.

Besides, Xiaomi announced that the new Redmi Book Pro notebooks will be thin and light (Acer Swift Go with Core i7 curr. $599.99 on Amazon), which should make the laptops good on-the-go productive machines. The company has also talked about the display, saying that the series will offer a flagship LCD screen, which is rumored to be 3.1K in terms of resolution with 165 Hz refresh rate.

In addition, Xiaomi hinted that the 2024 Redmi Book Pro laptops will have "ultra-long" battery life but didn't specify any numbers in that regard. The announcement picture (attached below) show that the notebooks will retain USB-A ports and have narrow bezels. More details are yet to be unveiled, but we don't need to wait long as the launch is just two days away from now.
