Blackview has added a new notebook to its product lineup. From 1 to 7 January 2025, the AceBook 12 will be available at a discounted price of $370 as a direct import. However, the laptop is still listed at a considerably higher price at the time of writing. Whilst import duties are already included in the price, buyers may incur extra charges for shipping. The product comes with the usual limitations associated with direct imports. For example, you may have issues exercising warranty rights, and the keyboard layout may differ from the one typically used in your region.
The laptop is fitted with an Intel Core i5-1030NG7, which is an antiquated processor announced in 2019 and thus certainly can’t deliver top-level performance. Nonetheless, the CPU is coupled with a fairly reasonable 16 GB of memory. The laptop uses a 512 GB M.2 SSD connected via PCIe for internal storage, which is expandable. The 16-inch display provides quite a large screen real estate but only has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200, equivalent to a standard Full HD with more vertical resolution (i.e. Full HD+)
Measuring 360.7 x 243.6 x 19.1 mm (14.2 x 9.6 x 0.8 in) and weighing 1.6 kg (3.5 lb), the laptop is more or less still quite portable. The built-in webcam only has a resolution of 720p, whilst the 57 Wh battery can charge at up to 65 watts. For external I/Os, the device offers USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0, HDMI 2.0 and USB-C ports along with a SD card slot. The AceBook 12 ships with Windows 11 Pro.
