Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime is now official
The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi continues its market offensive. This time, the rapidly-growing manufacturer officially announced its first handset to be assembled in India, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime.
The new handset looks almost the same as the inexpensive Redmi 2S, unveiled at the beginning of this year. However, it has twice the amount of both RAM and flash memory: 2 GB and 16 GB respectively. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime is powered by 64-bit, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, clocked at 1.2 GHz and features a 4.7-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution.
Redmi 2 Prime has been outfitted with 8 MP camera on the back and a 2 MP selfie shooter. Under the hood sits a 2200 mAh battery, a 4G module and two SIM slots. The device, running Android KitKat with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 6 interface on top, is available in India, starting today, at an equivalent of $110.
