Xiaomi Libra smartphone may ship with a Snapdragon 808 SoC
Yet another unknown smartphone has appeared on the popular GeekBench benchmarking application. This time, the Xiaomi Libra is the mysterious newcomer whose listed specifications include Qualcomm's 64-bit 6-core Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 SoC with integrated Adreno 418 graphics. Additionally, the smartphone will supposedly use 2 GB of RAM.
The leaked specifications make the Libra a perfect fit for the Xiaomi Mi product line. The Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus are expected to have an 8-core Snapdragon 810 SoC or even a Snapdragon 820 SoC. Thus, the Libra scores here are much too low to be the Mi5 or Mi5 Plus.
Outside of the Mi5 and M5 Plus, Xiaomi will also be launching the Redmi Note 2. However, the Redmi Note 2 is expected to run on a Snapdragon 615 SoC, which does not match the current benchmark data of the Libra. As a result, the Libra is likely yet another unannounced device coming down the pipeline from Xiaomi. Previous rumors and speculation have been suggesting that the Chinese manufacturer will begin expanding to additional markets and regions and this may be related to the Libra smartphone.
