Leak shows off Xiaomi Mi5 with no bezel
Although it was expected that Xiaomi would announce the new Mi5 on July 16, this did not happen, and it has only created more speculation and leaks regarding the handset. A Chinese blog called Mobile Dad leaked a picture of a prototype that looks a lot like the Xiaomi Mi Note, and some believe it is the new Mi5. The device is expected to be officially announced sometime in July or August.
Some other rumors have hinted that Xiaomi will be releasing two devices rather than one. The Mi5 is expected to house a 5.2 inch Quad HD display and will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The battery will likely be above 3,000 mAh, and the device will run Android 5.1 Lollipop. For picture-taking, it is rumored that the camera will be 13MP. Xiaomi's other expected device, the Xiaomi Mi5 Plus, will feature the even more powerful Snapdragon 820 processor and a 23MP rear-facing camera. Included is a 5.7 inch HD display as well.
The two devices are rumored to cost the equivalent of $371 and $385 upon release. Though these details are not confirmed in any way, they provide a realistic look at the upcoming products that Xiaomi will release. For now, we will simply have to wait until the official announcement for further information.
