Xiaomi is planning to launch its Pad 8 series on September 25 in China. Wang Hua, the company's PR director, emphasizes that display innovation will be the key focus. The upcoming series will include the standard Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro models. Xiaomi positions the tablets as best-in-class offerings that provide ecosystem integration through its proprietary HyperConnect platform.
The Pad 8 series will feature an 11.2-inch LCD screen across all models with 3.2K resolution, 345 PPI pixel density for sharp clarity, and 800 nits of peak brightness for enhanced outdoor visibility. The series will also include full DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland triple eye protection certification. Xiaomi claims to have implemented a nano soft-light screen technology that reduces glare during extended use. Additionally, the display will support a 144Hz refresh rate.
The Pro model will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, while the standard model will feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. The Pro model's AnTuTu benchmark reportedly reaches three million points. The Pad 8 series will run on the HyperOS 3 operating system and support desktop-class apps, including WPS for productivity, along with split-screen multitasking capabilities.
Battery-wise, the series is expected to feature a 9,200mAh battery across all models, with the Pro version offering 67W fast charging compared to the standard model's 45W fast charging. Both models will offer an ultra-thin 5.75mm profile and weigh approximately 485 grams. The series will reportedly support the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro stylus and will include productivity-focused features for professional use.
The Pad 8 series is slated for an initial launch on September 25 in the Chinese market, with a global release planned for a later date.
