An alleged real-life image of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet has been posted online. The shot reveals the rear side of the Xiaomi tablet, which is expected to be officially announced in August. Unsurprisingly, the Mi Pad 5 looks very similar to the Apple iPad Pro but has also borrowed from the design of the Xiaomi Mi 11.

Hot on the heels of a supposed real-life image of the Xiaomi Mi 12’s rear side comes a purported shot of the rear side of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. The picture, which was shared on the /Leaks website but seemingly originates from the Weibo digital blogger WHYLAB, could be of the Mi Pad 5 tablet itself or might simply be just the back cover.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet looks suspiciously thin here (see below), which could indicate it is just a cover on show, and the Mi 11-like/iPad Pro-like square-shaped camera housing is also blacked out. The “Xiaomi” logo on the tablet rear seems to be accurate, as a recent fan-made render was called out by the Chinese company’s PR team for incorrectly using “Mi” as the Mi Pad 5’s logo.

What has been impressing Xiaomi fans about the Mi Pad 5 real-life image, which has also been shared by noted tech tipster Mukul Sharma, is how sleek and premium the tablet looks here (presuming it’s not just a back cover). Of course, there is a distinct resemblance to the iPad Pro, but it is also obvious that Xiaomi will be targeting the premium end of the Android tablet market with the Mi Pad 5.
