It looks as though Vivo's next 'Ultra' branded flagship is right around the corner. Officially, Vivo has not revealed a release date yet. Nonetheless, recent rumours suggest that the X200 Ultra will be available next month to rival the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,094 on Amazon) and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, among other recent Ultra flagships.
Instead, the company has showcased what the X200 Ultra looks like from the inside with a focus on its camera hardware. Specifically, production manager Han Bo Xiao has confirmed that the X200 Ultra will ship with three rear-facing cameras. As the photos embedded below show, all three cameras are comparatively large.
With that being said, Vivo's telephoto camera has grown in size from last year's X100 Ultra. While the X200 Ultra is said to rely on the same ISOCELL HP9 sensor as its predecessor, its larger aperture captures up to 38% more light and has resulted in a larger overall camera package.
Meanwhile, Vivo utilises a pair of Sony LYT-818 sensors for the X200 Ultra's primary and ultra-wide-angle cameras. According to the same production manager, the company has paired these 1/1.28-inch sensors with 14 mm and 35 mm equivalent focal lengths. It is worth noting that the Sony LYT-818 is smaller than the 1-inch type sensor used in the X100 Ultra. Thus, the benefits of the adoption of a more conventional 35 mm equivalent focal length remain to be seen for the time being.
