Twelve South is about to launch its first power banks, named PowerCapsule. This US-based company was founded in 2009, and already offers a range of charging accessories for users of Apple devices like the PowerBug Qi2 Magnetic Wireless Charger (curr. $49.99 at Amazon).
Recently, the PowerCapsule 5K and PowerCapsule 10K power banks were listed in the Wireless Power Consortium’s database. This confirms that the accessories are Qi2 certified, meaning they will be able to charge iPhones at up to 15W. Your phone appears to be held in place by magnets, as indicated by the MagSafe ring. Plus, images of these products show a USB-C port, though it is unclear whether this is just an input or also an output.
Twelve South’s PowerCapsule power banks feature a power button on one side. Plus, indicator LEDs at the front should show users the remaining battery level. Both the 5K and 10K versions appear in black and cream color ways, each with a striped pattern on the front and a metallic finished frame around the edge.
The Twelve South PowerCapsule 5K and PowerCapsule 10K power banks have yet to be officially announced. As such, the full specification, pricing and release date of these two accessories remain unclear.
