The newly announced Triangle Garden 7 outdoor speaker is housed in a relatively understated enclosure, available in either green or grey. Rated IP66, the device is well protected against dust and rain. Thanks to the integrated LED with an output of 105 lumens, the speaker can also double as garden lighting at night.
Triangle has opted for a coaxial driver unit comprising a 160 mm bass-midrange driver and a 25 mm tweeter. The driver is aimed at a cone to ensure even diffusion of sound in all directions. According to official specs, the speaker covers a frequency range of 63 Hz to 22 kHz, with a sensitivity of 86 dB and an impedance of 8 ohms. The Garden 7 is designed to be installed 5 cm (1.97 in) deep in the ground, ideally secured to a base slab with screws.
As a passive speaker, the Triangle Garden 7 requires an external amplifier to produce sound. This also means that two separate cables are needed to wire up the speaker: one connecting to an amplifier and the other to a regular power source for the built-in LED lighting, optionally in combination with a light switch. For streaming functionality, the speaker must be paired with a compatible amplifier or audio player.
