The Vivo X70 series will launch with a cutting-edge 2K E5 display
"E5" is a potentially important buzzword that might be seen more and more often as leaks and rumors concerning next-gen phones such as the Xiaomi 12 and Samsung Galaxy S22 series build up over the next few months. It refers to a successor to the E4 panel-type seen in current flagships such as the Mi 11 Ultra and OPPO Find X3 Pro.
E5 AMOLED is rated for multiple advantages over E4, such as a 25% boost to power-efficiency - as iQOO would be more than happy to confirm. The Vivo sub-brand's own new flagship, the 8 Pro, is the world's first Android phone to boast the upgrade; however, its owner has now strongly hinted that the X70 series will soon catch up in this regard.
The OEM has just dropped a fresh trailer for its upcoming, own-brand premium smartphones that strongly hints at a 2K E5 display. On the other hand, the new post fails to mention which X70 variant or variants (currently thought to be up to 4 in number) will get this potential upgrade.
It is most likely destined for the X70 Pro+ model, which may be unveiled with a 6.78-inch punch-hole display and upgraded, Zeiss-enhanced rear cameras. Then again, we may have to wait until September 9, 2021 to find out for sure.
