Vivo confirms the X70 Pro Plus' design along with the flagship phone's launch date
Vivo has been rumored to launch a new flagship smartphone series that would consist of the X70, X70 Pro, X70t Pro and X70 Pro+, the latter of which has become associated with renders in which a large, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra-esque camera hump can be made out. Now, the OEM has set these hints in stone by revealing that its next top-end phone will indeed look like that.
The X70 Pro+ has indeed been confirmed as a device with a glass accent that extends its rear camera housing all the way across its back panel. However, unlike the 11 Ultra, it seems to have no function save to bear branding that unambiguously marks it out as the most premium variant of its new line.
Vivo is already taking bookings for this phone in its native China (along with Watches and other wearables that might go with its orange or navy blue colorways), although it will not actually be revealed in full until September 9, 2021. The OEM is also expected to announce other developments, such as its new in-house V1 chipset, in full on this date.
