The Realme executive Chase Yu has strongly hinted at a brand-new style for the OEM's upcoming Q3, a phone that might start as low as ~US$153 (or 1000 yuan). That would be an impressive feat, as the device is also rumored to run on the upper-mid-range-at-worst Dimensity 1100 SoC and to have a 120Hz display.

Realme has begun teasing the Q3, an immediate successor to the Q2 and Q2 Pro, ahead of its launch. Should a new Weibo post by its representative Chase Yu prove at all accurate, it will be the first known phone with a phosphorescent finish. Its apparently glow-in-the-dark effect might be applied to the "Dare to Leap" motto found on its rear panel.

The Realme Q3 is also now tipped to introduce something else to its brand: the Dimensity 1100 sub-flagship processor. It might drive a 120Hz display in this upcoming phone. Therefore, it would really turn out as a steal at the price-point currently foreseen for it.

Yu has also posted a remark that, when translated from its original Chinese, can be interpreted to mean the Q3 will start at the equivalent of ~US$153. To be more accurate, the executive intimated that Realme aims to make its series as a whole the "1000-yuan emperors".

Therefore, it is possible that the OEM means for the Q-phones of the future to approach and then dominate this price-bracket in the long term. Whether the 2021 iteration will light the way there in one generation remains to be seen; the Q2 did start at 1,299 yuan (~$199) after all.
