Rumor | The OnePlus 9 Pro will debut with 50W wireless charging

OnePlus debuted 30W Warp wireless charging (and the accessory to deliver it) in the 8 Pro, following years of blanking the spec altogether as top figures such as its CEO, Pete Lau, were unimpressed with the reduced efficiency of standards such as Qualcomm QuickCharge.

Now, the well-known leaker Ishan Agarwal claims that the upcoming 9 Pro flagship will upgrade to 50W wireless charging. This rumor, presented in conjunction with PriceBaba, also points to a new Warp charger for the same new rate.

This technology might mirror the addition of AirVOOC wireless charging to the flagship Find X3 series from OnePlus' sister OEM OPPO. Then again, the 9 Pro is also slated to launch with the same 65W wired standard (Warp Charge 65) from its previous generation. This might be a little disappointing, as other OEMs have recently shown that faster rates of up to 120W are also possible.
