Tank M3 Ultra: Rugged smartwatch with 1,000 cd/m² peak brightness and dual-band multi-GNSS introduced
Kospet has launched a whole range of new smartwatches. The Tank M3 Ultra is a new, well-equipped model with a rectangular display and extensive sensor technology. In addition to the sensor for measuring heart rate and blood oxygen saturation, which is now also obligatory for inexpensive smartwatches, it also features a digital compass and an altimeter. In the best-case scenario, the built-in air pressure sensor can also detect changes in the weather at an early stage.
A GNSS module is installed. This can handle L1 and L5 signals and supports Galileo, Glonass, Beidou, QZSS, and NAVIC in addition to GPS. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and measures 1.96 inches diagonally, making it relatively large. The resolution is specified at 410 x 502 pixels, and the peak brightness is an impressive 1,000 cd/m².
The screen can also be activated permanently, but since an AMOLED consumes a lot of energy, especially compared to a MIP display, the battery life is reduced to a maximum of three days - with situational activation of the display, the battery life should be up to eight days even with heavy use. The battery life with activated GNSS is said to reach up to 35 days.
Six sports are to be automatically recognized, with a total of over 170 sports profiles available. The watch, which is water-resistant to a test pressure of 5 ATM, can also be used for swimming. It is also possible to control music playback and display notifications. The smartwatch is available directly from the manufacturer until April 3rd at a price of just under 120 dollars. An alternative could be Forerunner smartwatches from Garmin, which are also equipped with a GNSS module and are waterproof.
