Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 core configuration details revealed in new leak
Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 last year as a sub-premium chipset with performance on par with the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Its direct successor, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, looks to be on its way and a new leak has now revealed core configuration information for the SoC.
As shared by leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is set to arrive with a Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 2.9 GHz. Comparatively, the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has that same core clocked at 3.3 GHz. Joining the Cortex-X4 core will be four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.6 GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz. On the GPU end, an Adreno 732 is touted.
As previously reported, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will likely deliver CPU performance in the same ballpark as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, although its GPU can be expected to perform just a touch better than the Adreno 730 on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Word on the grapevine indicates the chipset will be used on Xiaomi's Poco F6 series, potentially alongside the upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Other OEMs like OnePlus, OPPO, and Honor are mooted to adopt the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 as well.
