The Nothing Phone (3) will be officially unveiled on July 1 and is intended to be positioned as a better-equipped alternative to the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. Nothing confirmed a few weeks ago that the flagship would omit the Glyph Interface, that is, the typical Nothing-LED lighting on the back. In the teaser video embedded below, Nothing reveals the replacement for the Glyph Interface.
This is a small dot matrix display in the top right corner of the back. Nothing calls this display the "Glyph Matrix". This idea isn't entirely new, as the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro also features a similar display on the back. Asus even allows you to play simple games like Pong on this dot matrix display, but the screen also supports more useful functions such as displaying incoming notifications or a small selection of widgets that can, for example, display the weather forecast.
What features Nothing's Glyph Matrix will have is not yet known, but the smartphone itself will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, together with 12 GB to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 512 GB of flash storage. According to a leak, the Nothing Phone (3) will cost €799 or €899, depending on the storage configuration. Nothing has also just confirmed that the flagship will receive five major Android updates and seven years of security patches.
