Alongside the Galaxy M16, Samsung also launched the Galaxy M06, and like its sibling, this too is technically a rebadge of an already existing device, albeit with some cosmetic changes.
The new budget smartphone has a 6.7'' HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and U-shaped notch for an 8MP front-facing camera. There's a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor under the hood with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Owners will be able to add more storage via the MicroSD card slot (up to 1.5TB).
On the back of the Galaxy M06 5G are two rear cameras — a 50MP primary rear camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a single speaker, an audio jack, Bluetooth 5.3, support for twelve 5G bands, and dual-band Wi-Fi. There's a 5,000mAh battery under the hood that charges at up to 25W. As has become the norm with Samsung devices, there's no charger in the box.
The Galaxy M06 5G ships with Android 15 with the stripped down version of One UI (One UI Core 7.0) for entry-level Samsung phones. It will receive 4 generations of OS upgrades and 4 years of software updates whereas the Galaxy M16 will receive 6 OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.
If those specs sound familiar, that's because they are the same as those of the Galaxy F06 5G. It even has the same design with the only difference being the colors. The Galaxy M06 5G will be available to buy in Sage Green and Blazing Black but they do not have the glitter water finish of the Galaxy F06 which is available in Bahama Blue and Lit Violet.
Samsung has put a starting price of ₹9,499 (~$109/€105) on the base model which has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while the 6GB RAM + 128GB version will sell for ₹10,999 (~$126/€121). Both phones will be available to buy directly from Samsung and from Amazon.
