Samsung released its latest premium foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, to their home market of South Korea in August 2021. Now, less than 2 months later, the OEM claims to have sold its first million of these units combined. Almost unsurprisingly, 1 type has profoundly outsold the other thus far.

Samsung has already estimated that sales of the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip have been eclipsed by those of their recent successors, the Fold3 and Flip3, in the OEM's domestic market of South Korea. Now, the OEM claims that sales of those 2021 devices have crossed the 1 million mark in its home country.

The Z Flip3 and Fold3 have reportedly crossed this milestone on October 4, 2021, approximately 6 weeks following their release to pre-order in South Korea. Samsung has found the clamshell variant of this 2021 Galaxy Z series accounted for about 700,000 of these orders, which is less than surprising as it launched as the less expensive of the 2.

This, according to the company, means the new line of foldables is the fastest to get to seven-figure shipments in their home market since the launch of the Galaxy Note 10 series. The 2021 Z Flip and Fold have proven so popular that Samsung has kept a special trade-in promo for South Korean customers going longer than planned: it will now run until October 31, 2021.
