Now that the camera rings on the Galaxy S25 Ultra are out of fashion again, a render image leaked online shows the likely design of Samsung's next flagship camera for 2026, which is set to feature a significantly improved camera.

The past few days have been a whirlwind of news regarding the Galaxy S26. Numerous early hints from reliable sources have indicated faster charging and a larger battery, something that wasn't really expected from Samsung until now. The Exynos processor, which Bloomberg claims is planned for the Galaxy S26 series again, was discovered for the first time in a benchmark database, initially with lackluster performance values. Whether the Exynos 2600 will actually be installed in the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge and Galaxy S26 Ultra remains highly uncertain.

What many Samsung fans will be most interested in are the design and camera features of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which we expect to launch in January 2026 as the successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra (available here at Amazon). The last few hours have also brought a few new tidbits of information in this regard. Yesterday, leaker Ice Universe highlighted that the main camera would be significantly improved thanks to new lenses and a larger aperture. He has since not only confirmed this theory, but also pointed out that the 5x periscope telephoto lens will also benefit from the larger aperture, which should also benefit zoom shots in low-light situations.

However, combined with a thinner housing, this means that the camera bump will inevitably be larger again. According to Ice Universe, the render image of a Samsung fan that first appeared on Reddit shows roughly what we can expect as the "final design" for the Galaxy S26 Ultra's camera. It goes without saying that this is far from the officially confirmed final design. Since the predecessor's camera rings have been discontinued since the Galaxy Z Fold 7, a roughly 3mm thick camera bump for the main camera, ultra-wide-angle lens and 5x telephoto lens is realistic, according to the leaker.
