MagyarSamsung Galaxy S21 FE: renders, pricing, details, launch dates and all we know so far
Samsung brought back the FE badge to the market with the Galaxy S20 FE last year. The S20 FE was hailed for its incredible value proposition, and the South Korean company will be building on that success this year by releasing the Galaxy S21 FE in a few months. Details of the S21 FE have slowly leaked over the past few weeks, with renders showing up too.
Going by the renders, the Galaxy S21 FE will look quite similar to the Galaxy S21 and S21+. Big surprise. Last year's S20 FE was quite similar to the S20 and S20+, too. That means a triple camera setup housed within a module similar to the S21's, and a centered hole punch at the front. The body of the phone will almost definitely be plastic, as Samsung appears set to reserve glass for its most expensive devices only.
Under the hood will be a Snapdragon 888, or an Exynos 2100, depending on what model. It's unknown how much RAM the S21 FE will have. Rumors claim there may be an 8 GB model and there have been leaked benchmarks listings with 6 GB and 8 GB models indeed.
A 4500 mAh battery should make a reappearance, as well as 25 W charging, and a 1080p 120 Hz AMOLED. Camera-wise, there have been claims that the S21 FE will use a 64 MP sensor as its main camera instead of the 12 MP unit that was on the S20 FE. That would be a downgrade, we expect, as the most likely sensor is the GW2, which is worse than the IMX555 on last year's phone. This is all just speculation at the moment, though.
The Galaxy S21 FE was originally tipped for an August release, but recent rumors claimed the launch could be delayed due to the global chip shortage. Those rumors don't appear to have been concrete, though, so an August release may very well still be on the cards. The S20 FE was released in October, and that should be a worst-case scenario launch date for the S21 FE. The S20 FE had an MSRP of US$699; the S21 FE will either launch with the same price, or slightly less.
