Samsung has introduced a new Galaxy F36 5G smartphone in its budget-focused F series. The phone comes as a direct successor to last year’s Galaxy F34. This time around, Samsung has incorporated a new leather pattern design at the back for the Galaxy F36 5G. Speaking of cameras, the device retains the camera specs from its predecessor, featuring a 50 MP OIS-enabled primary camera paired with an 8 MP ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP macro camera.
Dimensionally, the phone measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7 mm (6.47 x 3.06 x 0.3 inches) and weighs around 197 grams (0.43 lbs). Samsung went with its in-house processor for the F36 5G. To be more precise, the phone is powered by an Exynos 1380 chipset coupled with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with room for storage expansion via microSD card.
As far as the display size is concerned, the Galaxy F36 5G sports a 6.7-inch super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, there’s a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top. Furthermore, Samsung packs a 5,000 mAh battery into its affordable 5G smartphone that supports only 25 W wired charging (Anker Nano 65 W charger curr. at $25.99 on Amazon).
Software-wise, the Galaxy F36 5G runs Android 15-based OneUI 7 out of the box, and the company promises a whopping 6 major OS upgrades (Android 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22) and 6 years of security updates until 2031. Other features include dozens of AI features, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP67 water resistance, dual-band WiFi AC, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS support.
Available in coral red, luxe violet, and onyx black faux leather textures, the Samsung Galaxy F36 5G retails at INR 17,499 ($203) for the base 6 GB + 128 GB model, and the 8 GB + 128 GB variant is priced at INR 18,999 ($220). The device will be available via Samsung’s official store and other authorized retailers starting from 29 July.
