Xiaomi has decided to refresh the Redmi K Pad with a new colour option. For context, the new Redmi K Pad release coincides with the company's official introduction of the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max. Also, Xiaomi has presented the Redmi Watch 6 today, full details of which we have covered separately.
To recap, Xiaomi launched the Redmi K Pad in June with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and an 8.8-inch IPS display in a body measuring 205.1 x 132 x 6.5 mm and weighing 326 g. Rivalling the RedMagic Astra and Lenovo Legion Y700 4th Gen but positioned against the Apple iPad mini 7 (curr. $489 on Amazon), the Redmi K Pad received a rebrand as the Xiaomi Pad Mini under a month ago.
Nonetheless, Xiaomi has decided to add to its compact tablet with a new Golden White Edition refresh. Also sporting a 'metal paint' coating to maximise durability by minimising the risk of corrosion, the new Redmi K Pad variant starts at CNY 2,999 (~$421) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Currently, the Golden White Edition can also be picked up with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for CNY 3,399 (~$477). There is no word on an international availability as an updated Xiaomi Pad Mini, though.
