Phillips has introduced yet another member of its Evnia family of gaming monitors. Dubbed the Evnia 27M2N3501PA, the gaming monitor sports a healthy set of features accompanied by an affordable price tag.
Complicated name aside, the new Evnia gaming monitor sports a 27-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. With a pixel density of 108 PPI, the monitor should be sharp enough for content consumption, although its productivity experience will vary.
Gamers should be pleased to note that the monitor boasts an impressive 240 Hz refresh rate, which, according to Phillips, can be overclocked to 260 Hz. As such, the monitor should be a treat for fast-paced FPS games, along with features such as 'Smart Crosshair' and 'Smart Sniper'. The Evnia sports a peak brightness of 300 nits, which is decent, but nothing to write home about.
Of course, the overall performance of the product can only be established with real-life testing. On paper, the monitor does appear pretty well-equipped, even featuring a claimed 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Decent color accuracy is a must-have for professional content creation, although the monitor's relatively low resolution is something to be wary of.
The Evnia 27M2N3501PA gaming monitor ships with what Phillips likes to call the 'SmartErgoBase', which essentially offers various ergonomics adjustments, including height, tilt, swivel, and pivot. Built-in stereo speakers are also present, which Phillips claims to be "high-quality". Dual HDMI 2.0 and a single DisplayPort 1.4 take care of input options.
Priced at £209, or roughly $284, the Phillips Evnia 27M2N3501PA appears to be well-positioned to take on the mid-range competitive gaming arena. The company has revealed that the product should be available to order sometime in late June, with no word regarding international availability.
