KRK has launched the Kreate studio monitor series for entry-level creators and music producers. The affordable series includes the $169 Kreate 3, $259 Kreate 5, and $299 Kreate 8 (all available on Amazon).
The KRK brand was founded in 1986 by Keith R. Klawitter, a film sound mixer. Studio monitors are speakers designed to produce an uncolored reproduction of recorded music and vocals with a relatively flat frequency response so that sound engineers can hear issues and create mixes that accurately mirror their intent.
All Kreate monitors are powered speakers with the ability to connect to audio sources over wired and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connections. The Kreate 3 has analog inputs for balanced 1/4" TRS, RCA, and 1/8” auxiliary connections. The other two swap the 1/8" jack for a balanced XLR input.
All use a textile dome tweeter and a glass-fiber composite cone woofer. The sound reproduction of the low and high frequencies can be adjusted using dials located on the back of each speaker.
